MERTON cricketers travelled to Chittick Park to take on Seymour on Saturday, with the visitors returning home with a win.
Winning the toss, Merton bowled, with Adrian Ziedens taking the first wicket to put the pressure on the home side.
A 50 run second wicket partnership between Noonan (31), and Culina (22) put Seymour back in the game.
The bowling combination of Anderson (3/11) and Berriman (3/22) put the brakes on Seymour’s middle order, with only a fine 49 from youngster N.Hunter allowing the home team to bat out the 45 overs to be 8/146.
Following a fantastic tea break, Merton’s opening duo of Ziedens and Mark Noye set up the win with a quickfire partnership with plenty of boundaries.
When Noye fell for 26, Ross Mackinnon (25 not out) combined with Ziedens (68) to help the visitors over the line, Merton passing Seymour’s total in the 38th over at 4/152.
