THE new Mansfield Children’s Centre building project is on schedule for both time and costs.
The first stage of the civil works, which generally related to drainage and in the ground services, are complete and stage two, the road and car park construction will commence shortly.
“Stage one included the construction of a retention tank designed to hold storm water on site and discharge it at no faster than the rate of a 1 in 10 year storm,” Mansfield Shire chief executive officer David Roff said.
“This will ensure that the local storm water system is not overwhelmed by storm water coming off the site and affecting nearby residents.”
As to the building, contractors working on the building had taken planned leave over the Christmas period and there has been little progress on the building since late December.
