MAJORIE, the bright pink BreastScreen Victoria mobile screening service, has rolled into Mansfield.
BreastScreen Victoria chief executive officer Vicki Pridmore says radiographers have already screened 132 local women in just one week with an aim to screening almost 1000 women before it leaves on February 19.
“Due to overwhelming attendance at the mobile screening service during its previous visit two years ago, the Mansfield screening target has increased from 903 to 950,” Ms Pridmore said.
BreastScreen Victoria particularly encourages women aged 50 to 74 to screen, as it is proven they are at most benefit from the program.
The BreastScreen program is not suitable for women younger than 40.
