Doon secure finals berth with good win

BONNIE Doon seniors approached their final home and away round on a much improved surface on their home ground.

The team dedicated this as the week of thanks, for all players to acknowledge the brilliant work of the committee, supporters and sponsors for the hard work they have done, to put the club in the strong position it is in.

Hosting Greta who were coming off a strong run of games, had fallen just short of finals, and were playing their last game in the seniors for the year.

It was a hugely important game for Bonnie Doon, as a win would ensure fourth position on the ladder with 11 wins, which was a huge improvement from the five wins and ninth position from last year.

Doon got off to a flying start with Daniel Godsmark playing up forward and Matt Zanini playing in the midfield, along with Jackson Charles, Tyler Chisolm and Scott Gross.

The team was getting first use out of the middle and the forwards were presenting well.
