THE final home and away round of the 2014 GVFL season took place last Saturday.

As the season began, the Mansfield Eagles played host to the Euroa Magpies from across the Strathbogies.

However, unlike round one, the Eagles chose to end their season ‘not with a whimper but a bang’, defeating the Magpies by 41 points.

Last weekend was a big one for the Eagles with the game, a Past Players function and a celebration of past flags on Sunday.

Two of the 2004 premiership side, Mark Jones and Matt Storer, were still playing and their current teammates wanted to add to their celebrations.

The current players came to the party with their best game of the year, scoring their highest score for the season and scoring in excess of 100 points for the first time in 2014.
