BILL Sykes (MLA, Benalla) and Cindy McLeish (MLA, Seymour) announced funding of $19,300 to support Mansfield’s two race days this year.

The funds are from the Victorian Government’s Raceday Attraction Program.

Mansfield is gearing up for two huge days of racing action and entertainment with the Mansfield Melbourne Cup race day and the Christmas Cheer at Mansfield Cup meeting on Sunday, December 7.

“Mansfield Melbourne Cup Day is one of the great days of country racing – picturesque location, superb atmosphere, and fantastic hospitality and entertainment,” Mr Sykes said.

“Racegoers will enjoy a great race card, a big screen TV televising the Melbourne Cup races from Flemington, Fashions on the Field, and activities for kids including face painting.

“The club’s Melbourne Cup meeting also provides a significant boost to the local economy and is the culmination of the Mansfield High Country Spring Arts Festival, another great regional event.”
