Record numbers at Mansfield Show

CELEBRATING its 125th year in style, the Mansfield Show was a runout success on Saturday.

With so many years behind them, it is no wonder the show has something for everyone – whether it’s the Shetland derby, dog high jump, best baked bread loaf or most creative Lego display, there is always a broad range of things to see and do.

In keeping with its celebration of history, the Mansfield A&P Society invited not only the Clydesdale Association, but also the magnificent Carlton and United Breweries horse and wagon team.

With the cool weather keeping both the sunburn and the flies at bay, the Mansfield Show enjoyed record numbers of visitors and competition entrants.

“We had lots happening over the show,” Amanda Swaney, spokeswoman for the A&P Society said.

“We’ve worked really hard at encouraging local children and families to enter different categories at the show, and as a result we had record numbers.
