Max Fricke third in solo speedway championship

WHAT A YEAR: Max Fricke in his Edinburgh Monarchs racing colors.

MANSFIELD speedway superstar Max Fricke came third in the coveted 2014 Victorian Speedway Solo Championship that took place at Undera Park Speedway, just outside of Shepparton, recently.

In the championship he competed against the likes of Edinburgh Monarchs teammate Justin Sedgmen, and Shepparton young gun Dakota North, in the Senior 500cc Class.

“The top two spots directly qualify for the Australian Speedway Championship in January, so if I can achieve a good result, I’ll be really happy with that,” Max said.

“Sedgy has had a really good year as well.

“Being teammates, I haven’t raced against him for a while, and there’s a little bit of rivalry there, but it’s more just wanting to beat your mate.”

Fricke enjoys racing at Undera Speedway.

“It’s a really nice track – it’s a little smaller than some of the others, which makes for some close racing,” he added.
