AMANDA Swaney might seem a rural woman, looking after tomatillos, cucu melons and steers.
However, the passion in her life is photography.
Amanda’s journey now sees her capturing the rural life in her photography.
“My father was a photographer during the war, working on Melbourne newspapers,” Amanda explained.
“When he went on the land he kept his photography up and I remember him as a huge influence.
“As a child we would go to bed at 7.30, he would set up the pantry as a dark room and in the morning there would be the prints as if by magic.”
Occasionally she would be let into the dark room to watch.
