Mansfield’s community citizen awards 2015

Award winners were selected from strong fields of nominations as was the shire community event

THE highlight of Australia Day in Mansfield is the recognition of those residents who have been nominated by their peers for the Australia Day Awards.

The 2015 awards will go to worthy recipients in Michele Padbury – Citizen of the Year, Shannon Stephens – Young Citizen of the Year, Neville Mathieson – Senior Citizen of the Year and MMuDS for the Sound of Music – Community Event of the Year.

Announcing the winners at an afternoon tea last week, Mayor Marg Attley said: “As in the past, we thought it appropriate to announce the award winners in advance to give friends, families and contributors the opportunity to show their appreciation at the Australia Day ceremony.

“The award winners are selected by the Australia Day Committee and were chosen from a strong field of nominations.

“I’d like to congratulate all the winners and the nominees for their contribution to strengthen our community.

“It is individuals who put up their hands and give generously of their time and energy who help to make Mansfield Shire such a wonderful place to live.”
