MANSFIELD will remain a two supermarket town after Aldi confirmed they had no interest in opening a local store.
Speaking last week, a representative from the company said, while they were always looking for new locations, Mansfield was not on the radar.
“Aldi Australia is always eager to bring our shopping experience to more Australians,” the spokesperson said.
“However, we have no immediate plans to open a store in Mansfield.
“When establishing … Aldi considers the long term potential of an area and population numbers.”
The statement comes after the Mansfield Courier contacted the company following talk that Aldi was investigating local real estate.
“We work closely with councils, businesses and community groups to ensure that Aldi’s presence will positively impact local residents,” was the company line.
In the same vein, McDonald’s have confirmed they too have no interest in opening a store in Mansfield.
