Windy conditions tested shooters

ON TARGET: Winners from Mansfield Clay Target shooting on the weekend were (from left) Iain Towers, Lachlan McDonald, Noah Calandro, Trevor Newman, Victor Tomasoni, Shawnti Coolahan and David Luelf.

COLD and windy conditions made clay target shooting a challenge at the Mansfield range on Sunday, but a few were able to pull it off.

Some 36 shooters (seven squads) with 14 of them being veteran shooters were vying for the main event for the day, and competition was tough.

The first event was a 50 target point score championship.

Taking overall and AA grade with a score of 148/150 was Daryl Hunt, and second was junior shooter Noah Calandro with 142/150.

First in A grade went to returning member Kevin Kirley with 137/150, and second to David Luelf with 133/150, while first in B grade was Victor Tomasoni with lady shooter Shawnti Coolahan taking second with a score of 129/150.

First in C grade was long time shooter Chris Peterson with 113/150 and Marty McLachlan was a very close second with 112/150, while junior shooter for the event was Noah Calandro.
