THERE are a reported 165,000 alpacas in Australia – and somebody has got to shear them.
Obviously Graham Moore does not do them all, but when it comes to quality shearing he is known as one of the best.
Having spent his life as a sheep farmer and shearer, making the jump to alpacas may seem like a logical step, however, surprisingly few have made the leap.
“There’s not many in the industry, which is surprising really,” Graham said.
“It’s a lot easier on your back than sheep.”
Graham first started back in 2008, when a shearing friend of his invited him to a nearby alpaca stud to “have a look”.
