Public members had their say on council’s new Structure Plan

Seven of the 34 original submitters took up council’s invitation to address councillors on the matters raised in their original written submissions.

These ranged from comment on specific sites such as a request from the developer of the Kareen Hills Estate for council to consider an increase in the residential lot yield above what is currently approved.

Other submitters commented on the importance of providing appropriate planning controls over the design and appearance of developments particular in key locations such as the ‘gateway’ entrances to the town, to opinion on what roads within the town should be identified to form the ultimate heavy vehicle bypass route.
