GVFL Interleague not good enough

GEELONG Football League successfully defended its number one ranking in country Victoria against the league it took it from two years ago, the Goulburn Valley Football League, on Saturday.

Despite Geelong FL kicking a remarkable 12 goals and 30 behinds in perfect conditions at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve, it was still enough to shrug off the hosts and win the match by 35 points.

Mansfield Eagles’ Adam Boshevski and Nick Gray took the field for the GVFL and both played well, with Gray getting his name on the scoreboard.

But it was another former Mansfield boy who was the star of the day – and unfortuntely he was playing for Geelong.

Dan Lovick, who spent the past two seasons with Goulburn Valley club Shepparton Swans, starred for the visitors.

Lovick was sensational in the victory and was deservedly named best on ground.
