By JANE HERBERT

AGE CHAMPIONS: MSC cross country champions were (from back, left) Josh Hamstead, Britney Allen, Sarah Carns, Nathan Purcell, Jesse Curtin; (middle) Eliza Pollock, Tynan Mims, Darcy Croxford-Demasi, Louis Spierings; (front) Sam Thomson, Brooke Mullins, Ebony McNamara.

LAST week, the annual Mansfield Secondary College (MSC) Cross Country was held in perfect conditions for runners and spectators alike with a gentle breeze to keep runners cool, softer conditions underfoot after recent rain and some rays of sun to warm those walking and watching.

The Landy team outshone its rivals with Year 12 students Eliza Pollock and Nathan Purcell leading other successful runners in Sarah Carns, Tynan Mims and Sam Thomson.

Landy finished the competition with 242 points, ahead of Hillary with 215 points, and well ahead of Bader and Churchill with 162 and 161 points respectively.
