IT was a rain soaked Saturday, but Bonnie Doon’s ground held firm, and its senior footballers beat Goorambat by 96 points.

The brilliant condition of the oval was testament to the work done by the Bonnie Doon committee, sponsors and volunteers over the summer.

In a very even performance all over the ground and for the four quarters, Bonnie Doon was able to work its way in front early and keep that momentum for the whole game.

Bonnie Doon kicked five goals in the first quarter and four in each of the last three, while in a very good defensive effort restricted Goorambat to three goals for the game.

Down forward Shannon Galea, Josh Evans and Danni Heazlewood finished off some very good work from up the field, kicking six, five, and five goals respectively.

Justin Collis chipped in with one to round out the Bonnie Doon goalkickers.
