MANSFIELD Secondary College (MSC) school captains Tim Hume and Ruby Lieber were guest speakers at the launch of the Kitchen Table Conversations (KTC) Report on August 2.

Organised by Cathy McGowan (MHR, Indi) the KTC Report launch provided an overview of major issues current in Indi in the first half of 2015.

The MSC captains told the audience how a Kitchen Table Conversation at the school gave students a chance to explore their vision for Indi.

Mr Hume and Ms Lieber said many students feel disconnected with politics and the KTC process was a chance to start talking about how young people could get their voice heard, and included in discussions for solutions to issues.

Ms McGowan said the feedback showed that young people would engage in an inclusive process, and it was important they felt part of the community.

“Everyone was inspired by Tim and Ruby’s insights, and their enthusiasm to get other students motivated to talk about their issues,” Ms McGowan said.
