Bullet rips into holiday home

HOME SHOOTING: A holiday home at Sheepyard Flat was allegedly shot at earlier this month.

A SINGLE shot from a high powered rifle was fired into a holiday home at Sheepyard Flat, ripping through walls, doors and even a bedhead.

The incident occurred sometime earlier this month and the owners of the home are, understandably, furious.

Russell Brown, who has owned the property for more than two decades, said the Tobacco Flat dwelling had only just been rebuilt.

“It’s taken us (the ownership syndicate) two years to rebuild the hut – we are pretty p***** off, it’s done a lot of damage.”

Mr Brown said they assume a “lowlife spotlighter” had illegally been on the property and sighted a deer, taking a pot shot at close range to the home.

“We assume there was a deer out the front and they just didn’t care that there was a house behind it,” Mr Brown said.
