Mansfield reserves into the grand final

SUPER PERFORMANCE: Ben Vogelzang leaps for the ball, ably supported by Jeremy Veneman.

THE mighty Mansfield reserves booked themselves a spot in this year’s GVFL grand final on Saturday with a hard fought 16 point win over the Mooroopna Cats.

It was a great day for the group running out and seeing so many yellow and blue tops on the hill and everyone’s support really helped the team throughout the day.

It was a real arm wrestle all day with the Eagles kicking the first two goals, but then chasing for the second half of the quarter to trail at the first break.

The second quarter was played much the same, with Mansfield starting well but Mooroopna clawing their way back to again lead at half time.

Jarrod Gerrish played a fantastic game and his efforts were a real glimpse of the future at the Eagles.

Regan Tait tried his backside off all day giving away plenty of height but making a great contest nonetheless.
