Evans shines as Bonnie Doon’s B&F

TOP HONOURS: Trophy winners for Bonnie Doon seniors players were (from back, left) Justin Collis, Dylan Walker (representing William ‘Virgil’ Puruntatameri) and Wade Clarke; (front) Josh Allam and Josh Evans. Evans was named best and fairest as well as top goal kicker.

IT was a stellar season for Bonnie Doon’s 2015 star recruit John Evans who took out the club’s best and fairest trophy last Friday night.

Evans also took out the top goal kicker for the club and the Ovens and King league.

He also placed third in the league’s best and fairest and was included as a member of the ‘team of the year’ for O&K.

In responding to his award, Evans said he was delighted to be playing with the Bombers and vowed to return next season also pushing his fellow players to return to the club.

“This is a great family club with some great people running it, including president Dave Darby, and I urge all our players to come back next year,” he said.

“We now know what we have to do to take out the flag next season – let’s do it.”
