MANSFIELD residents will be spared an early onset of water restrictions, with Goulburn Valley Water reporting town storage is currently at capacity.
Despite ongoing dry conditions and a considerably dry winter, the town water supply has been steadily maintained by flows in the Delatite River.
A spokesperson for GV Water confirmed that the current policy of permanent water saving rules would stay in effect until further notice.
“The Mansfield water storages are currently full and water restrictions are not required at this stage,” the spokesperson said.
“This position will be reviewed by Goulburn Valley Water on a regular basis over the coming months.”
GV Water currently supplies more than 3000 homes in the Mansfield Shire, and said restrictions were introduced based on a number of trigger points: volume of water currently stored, expected customer usage and inflow from the Delatite River.
