$200,000 grant for Youth Hub

NEW CONCEPT: Latest plans by consultants Convic for the Mansfield Youth Hub (skatepark) were released for public comment on Sunday and Monday.

MANSFIELD Shire Council will receive $200,000 in federal funding towards the proposed Youth Hub and skatepark.

The total cost of the youth hub and skatepark is estimated at approximately $405,000.

Mansfield Shire mayor Paul Sladdin said “we are delighted to receive news of this funding which will enable us to commence this project as soon as is practical”.

“On Sunday I attended a very successful Phruntsyde FReeZA skateboard competition where the concept plans were discussed,” Cr Sladdin said.

“And there was another open public forum on Monday night for comment.

“The skatepark action group, users and general community were all supportive of the concept plans and we look forward to a first class youth hub for use by all youth and not just skateboarders,” Cr Sladdin said.
