ON February 26 and 27, Benalla Basketball Association hosted a Mini Invitational for junior squads around North East Victoria.

The Under 16 boys blue team had a great start to the weekend, with a huge win against Benalla's Division Two team 40–16.

They then backed it up with another impressive win of 22–14 in a tighter low scoring contest against a well matched Tatura.

Sunday started with an exciting match against the strong boys from Tumut, but still the Eagles managed a very convincing win of 45–18.

Finishing with a tough contest against Benalla's Division One side, the Eagles had them really rattled by leading for most of the game, but unfortunately the Breakers came back desperate to not go down to Mansfield again, and took the win 26–20.

This was the last tournament for the season for the boys, but the improvement, growth and good sportsmanship they've shown over the summer has been a joy to watch.

Thanks to their amazing coach, Ben Browning, and all the parents for their support and dedication, scoring, driving and cheering on.
