Brayshaw joins Greene in AFL Tribunal bid

THE AFL Tribunal is locked in for a triple header on Tuesday evening after Fremantle midfielder Andrew Brayshaw and Essendon's Mason Redman joined GWS star Toby Greene in contesting their bans.

Greene will front the Tribunal in a bid to overturn or reduce his striking charge against Geelong midfielder Patrick Dangerfield.

The Giants forward received a two-match ban for his elbow to Dangerfield's throat that resulted in the Cats star going to hospital to get assessed.

Greene's high fend-off has divided opinions, with the incident classified as careless conduct, high impact, and high contact.

GWS face Richmond this week, and the Giants are desperate to have Greene available to play in their bid to lock up a finals berth.

Brayshaw was handed a one-match ban for making "unnecessary or unreasonable contact" to Brisbane midfielder Jarrod Berry's eye region in an action assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

The incident occurred during Sunday's clash at Optus Stadium, which the Lions won by 64 points.

Berry reacted angrily and immediately complained to the umpire after feeling Brayshaw's hands on his face.

The Tribunal's decision on Brayshaw will be critical to Fremantle's chances of ending an 11-match western derby losing streak against West Coast this weekend.

Redman copped a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle on Marcus Bontempelli, who had one arm pinned while being brought to the ground.
