A PLANNING application has been made to the Mansfield Shire Council to build a convenience restaurant, sparking concerns that it is a covert attempt to bring McDonalds to town.
The site plans, which are included in the application, include a drive through service/pick up lane, a children’s indoor play area, on-site parking for 26 cars and a proposal to operate from 6am until midnight seven days a week.
To be located at 2–4 Station Street (previously Ultimo St) ‑ the restaurant would effectively be on the corner of Maroondah Highway and Station Street.
