Social Stableford and Gentsomes for golfers

WITH the return to golf and with the restriction of no competitions to be held our golfing fraternity still managed to go for a stroll and enjoy some golf and camaraderie.

Thursday resulted in around 50 players out enjoying their freedom and some exercise out on a soft but well maintained track.

A social game of Stableford was held for those playing.

The scores were still not overly flash due to the lack of practice over the last few weeks, but the best came from Maurie Walsh leading the field, with Rod Sargent and Peter Dolling also returning some reasonable scores.

There was at least one shot on target for the day with Geoff Brown letting the contact tracers know that he hit the 18th green.

Saturday was a social round of four person gentsomes.

With 52 players out on the paddock the rivalry was certainly to be expected.

Although there was no official competition, the bets in the groups certainly kept the players on their toes, with some of the better scores going to the group of Paul Lange, Shaun McMahon, Ben and Greg Millott, followed by the group of Dave Octigan, Daryl Horwood, Brad Grant and Shane Brook further back.

Until we can return to normal competition, we will continue to have social golf on Tuesdays, ...
