Frequent positive feedback about the appearance of the Mansfield Showgrounds is due to the the dedication and unrivalled work ethic of volunteer Bernie Anstee whose contribution was recognised last week at the monthly meeting of the local agricultural society.
Since joining the Mansfield A&P Society 20 years ago, his contribution over so many years has been greatly valued by his fellow committee members and all those who use the grounds.
"Bernie has provided extraordinary service by maintaining the grounds to a park-like state which includes magnificent views to Mt Buller," said A&P president Amanda Swaney.
"His attention to detail to maintaining the infrastructure with tireless hours of labour and help with various activities including the wood auction is much appreciated."
Committee members were on hand last week to congratulate Bernie on a job well done as the president presented him with his life membership badge.
