ALTHOUGH physically unable to gather and reflect on Anzac Day for the first time since 1919, across Mansfield Shire there were still signs of the community paying their respects.Typically, Mansfield and outlying towns like Bonnie Doon, Tolmie, Merrijig and Jamieson hold their own dawn services and memorials. But this year, traditional dawn services were relinquished due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) but those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in wars over the past 105 years since that first Anzac Day at Gallipoli on the shores of Turkey on April 25, 1915, were not forgotten.
