THERE is nothing more stirring than a pipe band leading a grand parade which happened again on Saturday morning when the Wangaratta Pipe Band had people running for a best spot to view the return of the grand parade.
Thousands of people lined High Street on Saturday morning for this year's Festival Grand Parade sponsored by Martin's Garage and with more than 30 exhibitors this was truly a 'grand parade'.
From tiny tots riding ponies, to theatre goers, sports fanatics, cars both old and modern, Angels on roller blades and so much more it was a parade much loved and admired especially as it followed a three year hiatus due to Covid-19 and major rains last year.
Parade entry winners were: Karen Pirie Award for Best overall: MAC - James Wilson; Best community grou/club: MMuDS - Will Twycross; Best community sports group - Mansfield Basketball - Hayley Tudor Harrop; Best School entry - St Mary's Primary School and Best animal entry - Mansfield Pony Club.
