RESIDENTS on the western side of Mansfield are furious that their pleas for safer pedestrian access have been ignored, yet a $200,000 plus footpath is almost complete in front of an industrial complex.
Announced as part of the 2019-2020 capital works program, the Mansfield Shire Council approved the building of a concrete footpath along the north side of Mt Buller Road, between Rowe Street and Timothy Lane.
While the footpath itself stretches along 500 metres, it covers just 10 businesses - none of which rely on passing foot-traffic.
