THE Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment has issued infringement notices to the Mount Buller and Mount Stirling Alpine Resort Management Board for failing to meet environmental approval conditions.

In June 2018, the Federal Government issued approval for the Resort Management Board to construct and operate a 100ML reservoir within the Mt Buller Resort.

This approval was subject to an extensive range of environmental conditions, including that the project had to be contained within the defined project area, and that there was to be no direct impact to the nearby alpine bogs for the next 48 years.
