A NEW round of grant funding through Mansfield’s Social Inclusion Action Group (SIAG) will soon give a boost to community-led initiatives promoting social inclusivity and connection. SIAG is inviting community groups to apply for grants of up to $5,000, covering both ideas for new programs and for continuing existing programs. The grants are one way SIAG fosters a culture of social inclusion in Mansfield Shire, bringing community members from diverse walks of life together and contributing to good mental health and well-being. Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said he was looking forward to seeing fantastic local ideas come to life through the SIAG grants. “Council is proud to support the SIAG initiative and their partnerships with community groups,” he said. “We encourage all our community groups, regardless of size or scope, to take advantage of this opportunity to make a positive impact,” said Cr Rabie. Applications open on 23 June 2025 and close 1 August 2025. For more information on how to apply, visit Council’s website at mansfield.vic.gov.au/SIAG. Groups and initiatives that received funding in 2024 include: - Mansfield Badminton - Hall hire and equipment - Jamieson Community Group & Associated Bodies Inc - Jamieson autumn extension and start of spring community thank you event - Goughs Bay Area Progress Association - Goughs Bay Community hub - Mansfield Let's Talk - Monthly coffee chat sessions - Mansfield Social Table Tennis - Purchase of two table tennis tables - Living with Parkinsons Support Group - Monthly lunch support group meetings - Mansfield Armchair Cinema - Monthly social events - Mansfield District Hospital - Respond project and Mighty Movers to get children more active - Cycling Without Age - Contribution for trike - Merton Recreation & Memorial Hall Reserve Inc - Digital drop-in café - Jamieson Community Group - Jamieson welcome package and launch event - Active Dads - Funding to support the Active Dads program - Plant & Pick - Establishment of a vegetable garden with produce to be used by Bindaree, Respond program and Chop and Chat.
