MANSFIELD bowlers headed to Yackandandah last Tuesday for Midweek Pennant.
It was a very successful day out with Mansfield winning all three rinks.
Michael Harrison, Mark Bettany, Lyn Holland Irene Fuller won 33 shots to 11.
George Peterson, Elaine Peterson, Marian Ryan and Enid Smith had a resounding 33 to six win.
The final rink of Lyn Foots, Jenny Walsh, Vicki Klein and Yvonne Robinson trailed behind most of the day, however with five ends to go, battled back for a 25 to 19 win.
The Home Pennant competition on Tuesday has Tony Pridham's Green team at the top of the table.
The team which also includes Harry Smith, Glenda Revell and Renee Prosser won their rink 23 to 12 against the Gold team of Marco Bohren, Kathleen Bock, Barry Hempenstall and Peter Wooley.
Team Red, of Dizzy Tyers, Tony Wilkes, Ross Parsons and Heather Ingpen defeated the Yellow team of Nikko, Kris Humphrey, Christina Smith and Ray Fraser 21 to 17.
There was a tough tussle between Alan Dobson's Blue team of Tom Ingpen, Anne Tilbrook and Ida Rachele, who won by only one shot, 21 to 20, to the Lime team of Carolyn Close, Belinda Snider, Kevin Waters and Anne Wileman.
The final rink saw the Orange team have solid win 25 to nine, with Winston Taylor, Alan Hatcher, Michelle Mios (and Tilly) and Glen Hempenstall defeating the Pink team of Steve Lewis, Brian Sinclair, Gwen Gray and Catherine Johnson.
The first two rounds of the Ladies 100 up competition was held Thursday.
Lyn Foots defeated Yvonne Robinson 101 to 47, Anne Tilbrook lost to Jenny Walsh 50 to 100, Glenda Hempenstall in her first club event did well to finish with 78 shots to Vicki Klein's 101 and Enid Smith defeated Lyn Holland 106 to 94.
In the second round Enid was too good for Vicki but not by much, finishing 104 to 96.
Lyn Foots defeated Jenny Walsh 101 to 88.
The final will be held this Thursday between Footsy and Enid.
All armchair experts welcome to come along and offer their support.
Mansfield A3 side headed to Bright on Saturday.
Ray Robinson's team almost got over the line with Graeme Smith, Ray Close and Enid Smith going down 16 to 19.
John Foots, Peter Roberts, Irene Fuller and Alan Dobson had a good win 24 to 14.
George Peterson, Elaine Peterson, Chris Laws and Marian Ryan just missed out 19 to 25 shots.
Michael Harrison, Noel Jackson, Shane O'Brien and Brian Revell just got the win 20 shots to 16.
On the day Mansfield won 79 to Bright 74, leaving Mansfield second on the ladder.
The A4 team were at home, hosting Corowa RSL.
The overall scores were very close all day.
Mark Bettany, Steve Spence, Kevin Nikkelson and Nick Klein got up on the last end to win 20 to 19.
Lyn Foots, Vicki Klein, Lyn Holland and Yvonne Robinson were beaten 16 to 18.
Rick Nichols, Carolyn Close, Don Cameron and Ken Rainsbury went down 10 to 20 and Rob Kemp's team of Steve Lewis, Winston Taylor and Ross Parsons had a good win 27 to 22.
Mansfield are sixth on the ladder.
The Men's Club Championships were cancelled on Sunday due to the heavy rain and will now start next Sunday.
