TUESDAY'S Home Pennant saw the Yellow team being 18 all after 18 ends snatching the win over the Blue team 22/18.
The White team had a strong win against the Red team 28/12.
The Orange team of snuck home against the Gold team of 22/19.
The next game saw the Pink team of having a very good win against the Black team 23/11.
The final game saw a thriller with the Lime team having a draw with the Green team 19 all.
The ladder sees Orange on top with 12pts +23, White on 10pts+25, Green 10pts+2, Lime 8pts+24, Pink 8pts+15, Yellow 8pts-11, Blue 2pts-8, Gold 2pts-14, Black nil pts –22 and lucky last is the Red team on no points –34.
Tuesday’s O&M Pennant saw Mansfield at home against Rutherglen.
After a tough game all day, Mansfield took the points 77 shots to 42.
George Peterson, Elaine Peterson, Chris Laws and Ray Close shot away to a good lead 8 shots to 1 after the 4th end.
Rutherglen struck back to level the game at 9 all after 10 ends, but Mansfield took control winning 6 of the last 10 ends with big numbers winning 23 shots to 14.
Lyn Foots, Jenny Walsh, Mark Bettany and Brian Revell were down early but kept plugging away and after picking up a count of 6 on the 8th end the scores were level.
Mansfield finished very strong to win the last 6 ends to take the win 23 shots to 15.
The final rink of John Foots, Noel Jackson, Irene Fuller and Enid Smith had a close game early with the score at 6 all after 7 ends.
Mansfield picked up a fabulous count of 7 on the very next end and Rutherglen could not recover, winning 31 shots to 13.
Mansfield sits in top spot on the ladder and travels away to Wodonga this week on Wednesday.
Thursday saw the final of the Ladies Handicap pairs and after a mammoth game of great bowls and an extra end, Lyn Foots and Christina Smith took the win 9 shots to 8.
Congratulations to Christina for winning her first ever club event.
Friday saw 15 players enjoying the day with the winners being George Peterson, Lyn Holland and Sharon Gysberts with 2 wins 33pts from Mike Harrison, Elaine Peterson, Shane O’Brien and Christina Smith on 1 win 21pts.
Saturday saw both O&M Pennant teams playing at home with the results not in our favor.
The A2 side played Wodonga and after a great competitive start, the visitors took the win 77 shots 69.
Mike Harrison, Peter Roberts, Chris Laws and Shane O’Brien struggled early and could not get back in the game going down 27 shots 14.
Ray Robinson, Graham Smith, Sid Revell and Enid Smith got away to a good start having the lead 15 shots to 5 after 13 ends.
Wodonga tried to get back in the game but after Mansfield picked up a count of 6 on the 16th it was all over with the home team taking a great win 28 shots to 14.
Mark Bettany, Lyn Foots, Ray Close and Mick Hoban struggled from the get go being down 12 shots to 5 after 11 ends.
Mansfield dug in and even after playing great bowls, Wodonga were far too strong taking a good win 23 shots to 9.
The final rink of George Peterson, Elaine Peterson, Noel Jackson and Marian Ryan had a close game all day and after winning 3 of the last 4 ends, they took a great win 18 shots to 13.
Mansfield A4 team played at home against Corowa RSL with the visitors taking the win 92 shots to 74.
Winston Taylor, Gary Fuller, Tom Tomic and Stephano had a great team effort all day and by the 18th end the score was level at 18 all.
It was a struggle to the end but Corowa snatched the win 20 shots to 19.
Mick Walsh, Irene Fuller, Don Cameron and Alan Dobson started off okay but the visitors took control to lead 23 shots to 11 after the 18th end.
Mansfield kept fighting but the gap was too great, going down 26 shots to 15.
Graeme Tyers, Nick Klein, Kevin Nikkelson and Yvonne Robinson had a close game early, but after the 12th Corowa had a good lead 15 shots to 7.
To their credit Mansfield won 7 of the last 9 ends to take an exciting win 19 shots to 18.
The final rink of Rick Nichols, Jenny Walsh, Lyn Holland and Ross Parsons had a fabulous start leading 10 nil after the 3rd end.
Corowa kept the pressure on but Mansfield kept up their determination to be down by just 3 after the 19th end but the visitors won the last 2 ends to take the win 28 shots to 21.
Mansfield is in 5th spot and plays Benalla away.
