CHRISTMAS preparations were put on hold this week to make way for our golf games.
Tuesday’s weather deterred a few players, but Sandra Lording managed to produce a lovely 18 points to win from Margaret Fredickson, who scored 16, visiting from Whittlesea Golf Club.
Wednesday was the Monthly Medal, sponsored by All Things Natural and Organic.
We always try to acknowledge our sponsors throughout the year and thank them for their terrific support.
Kerri Nicol made sure of the win with a fantastic net 68.
Well done, Kerri, for continuing your great form.
Robyn Baker won A Grade with a terrific 71 points.
Robyn always seems to produce consistently good form.
Second place went to Sheryl Sargent with 72 points, decided on a countback from Linda Brook.
Kerri, of course, won B Grade from Shelly Comerford, who scored 72, also on a countback from Shirley Nolan.
Nearest the pins were won by Linda Terry on the 2nd hole, and then shared around by Shelly Comerford, Marion Sargeant, and Kylie Egan.
Gayle Wells was again the regular winner of the putting.
On Thursday, four ladies played a competition won by Jenny Koraus with 15 points on a countback to Wendy Hunt.
Saturday was Captains Day, featuring a 4-person mixed Gentsomes format.
It turned out to be a very popular format.
We had a good number of 19 ladies playing in the large field to support our Captains, Sheryl and Rod Sargent.
I will only mention the winning lady team members.
Lyn Poulson and Colleen Leeds were in the winning team.
Marion Foster was in the runners-up team.
Louise Calvert-Jones came in third place.
Linda Brook and Robyn Baker placed fourth.
Sheryl Sargent, Jenny Koraus, and Louise Calvert-Jones all had nearest the pins.
Worthy of particular mention are Marion Foster and Louise Calvert-Jones, who were the standout players on the day, with personal scores of 54 points for Marion and 50 points for Louise.
Well played, ladies.
To finish a great day, everyone enjoyed drinks, nibbles, and camaraderie after the game.
Finally, wishing everyone a Happy Christmas.
Stay safe and good hitting.
