THE Mansfield Hy Undies team still basking in their success in the 25 Hour Endurance Race at Tailem Bend last month were out in force to raise awareness and much needed funds to support Rare Cancers Australia at last Saturday's Show N Shine display in the main street.

Team member, Paul Allen, thanked the Delatite Drivers Car Club's President Cameron McGann for allowing Hy Undies to be part of the Delatite Show N Shine which had been postponed because of wet conditions during the Melbourne Cup weekend.

"We were invited to use this event to help raise local community support, to raise funds for Rare Cancers Australia," said Paul.

It was also an opportunity to meet the drivers and check out the two Hyundai Excels that have just undergone a new paint job.

Their latest trophy from the Melon Aid event last month in South Australia was proudly displayed with their other trophies.

Paul and fellow team member, Stuart Wadsworth, are enthusiastic about their motor sports involvement and keen to share their passion with others.

"Motor Events Racing offers low–cost entry level for anyone who wants to be involved," said Paul.

"Hyundai Excels are affordable vehicles to race because spare parts are more readily available compared to other car makes and models," added Stuart.

Both Stuart and Paul agreed it was a family orientated sport suitable for younger and older drivers, males, and females.

Hy Undies promote the mental health of being involved as well as the motivation of raising funds for such a worthwhile charity as Rare Cancers Australia

The Hy Undies also provided the catering for the event with proceeds going towards their fundraising.

The warm weather and live music provided an ideal atmosphere for motor enthusiasts who were treated to a visual feast featuring classic cars to high octane sports models including a Formula 5000 car.

Mansfield Motorsport was well represented with a display of local historic and extreme race and rally cars.

Paul Konig and his super–fast V8 RX7, recently returned from an epic time at Bathurst was there and is regularly challenging to be Victoria's top sprinter.

Mansfield Juniors with 15 year old Aaron Trecento – already a standard setter at Winton – and Mia Wadsworth were on hand too.

Other nicely prepped racers such as the Commodores of Greg Jones and Luke Trewarne formed part of the display.

For those who enjoy rally cars Mansfield's Dave Blunden's fire spitting and class winning Skyline was in the line–up with a 60 year old Austin Healey 3000, the most successful rally Healey in Australia.

A popular vehicle entry from the early Targa days, was the Kermit green LC Torana.

The support of the Mansfield Shire was most appreciated by the organisers who were able to use the medium strip in High Street to stage the event.
