IT was a massive two days of racing at the 2024 Victorian Country Short Course Swimming Championships in Traralgon over the weekend for Mansfield swimmer Keziah Wolfe (13).

Although five of our swimmers qualified for the championships, Kezi was the only club representative to make the big trip down for five events over the two days.

She kick started her Saturday morning scraping in a new personal best time in the 100 metre freestyle before following that up with a blistering swim in the 100m backstroke and a seven second PB finishing tenth overall.

It was then time to rest before the remainder of her swims the next day.

Kezi exceeded expectations on Sunday smashing out personal best times in the 100m individual medley (one lap of each stroke) in the morning and finished off her weekend by knocking five seconds from each of her 100m breastroke and 200m freestyle times in the afternoon.

Not only did she improve her personal best times by more than 20 seconds collectively over the two days, but she also added four qualifying times for the State Age Championships to be held at MSAC in September (bringing her individual total to five).

Her turns and streamlines in each race brought positive comments from the commentary team as we watched online from Mansfield.

Kezi’s results are the outcome of setting herself some serious long-term goals and a lot of hard work, training in Benalla twice a week over winter.

Many thanks to Gippsland Swimming for running another fabulous championship event.

Kudos to Kezi's support team on the ground in Traralgon for giving her the support that she needed to do so well.

Well done Team Mansfield.
