A SMALL team of Mansfield swimmers headed to Bendigo on the weekend for their first foray into long course (50 metre pool) racing for the season at the annual Kangaroo Flat Swim Club meet.

Held at the Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre indoor pool it was a great opportunity for our swimmers to check out the fabulous facility that will play host to the 2025 and 2027 Victorian Short Course Countries championships.

Still fairly new to racing, Haim Wolfe (8) has been working hard over winter and did a brilliant job bringing home a new personal best in each of his three 50 metre races including third place in the 50 metre freestyle and 50 metre backstroke.

Vivian Knight (9) took on the full suite of 50 metre races with a personal best (PB) in each, finishing second in the backstroke, third in the freestyle and second in butterfly. Harvey Knight (11) displayed the results of his hard work over winter with personal best times in each of his five races, third place in the 100 metre freestyle and three more Country Championships qualifying times to add to his list.

Senior swimmer of the team Keziah Wolfe (13) converted her recent short course success into the 50 metre pool and demonstrated that she is on track for another fabulous season with new PBs in 5/6 races, top three placings in 4/6 events and a number of both Country and State qualifying times.

Well done Team Mansfield for kicking off the cobwebs in a great meet.

We look forward to heading to MSAC in a few weeks for the Victorian Junior Excellence Meet with a team of our nine to 13 year old swimmers.
