OVERNIGHT, Mansfield's own Olympic Gold Medallist, Catherine Skinner, and Tokyo Olympians Laetisha Scanlan and Penny Smith won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively for Australia in the Trap Women's individual event for shotgun at the ISSF Grand Prix in Granada, Spain.

This saw a continuation of the impressive international form from the Australian Trap Women after collectively winning the gold medal from the ISSF World Cup in Lonato, Italy only weeks prior.

The Australian Trap Men also proved dominant in Granada with Tokyo Olympian Thomas Grice shooting a personal best in qualification where he led the field before going on to win the gold medal for Australia.

The Australian women finished as the top three qualifiers landing them all a place in the semi–finals where Laetisha Scanlan shot an impressive score of 25/25.

Catherine Skinner scored 22/25, and Penny Smith scored 21/25 with all three women qualifying for the medal match.

In the medal match, Catherine Skinner and Laetisha Scanlan both scored 30 hits, entering a shoot off where Skinner hit one target to win the gold medal with Scanlan taking the silver medal.

Smith scored 21/25 to claim bronze.

The ISSF Grand Prix in Granada, Spain was a dominant display of shooting from the Australian Shotgun Team, and a promising sign as they head to the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan at the end of May.
