July 1 saw the new Brigade Management Team (BMT) take office at Mansfield Fire Brigade, charged with running the brigade for the next two years.

This follows on from the biannual elections held in May, at which brigade members voted in the new BMT.

After eight years in the chair, Andrew Peachey stepped down as captain to take on a Deputy Group Officer role with Mansfield Group. The brigade duly elected David Mims, previously First Lieutenant, to the role of captain.

At the July meeting, incoming captain Mims acknowledged the dedication and work that Andrew Peachey gave as captain, and noted the proud history of past serving captains in the brigade. He also thanked outgoing treasurer Mike Fisher, who diligently served in that capacity for many years and now retiring.

Mims said: “it is an honour to be elected to this role and to continue the legacy built by those who have gone before.”

The office bearers for the new BMT are:

Captain: David Mims

Lieutenants: Matthew Anderson (1st), David Jagger (2nd), Anne Beckingsale (3rd), Alex White (4th)

Secretary: John Condon

Treasurer: Jamie Beckingsale

Communications: Chris Roberts

Health & Safety: Andrew Peachey

Fire & Equipment Maintenance: Mick Jones

Mansfield Brigade meets on the first Tuesday and trains on the third Tuesday every month, and prospective new members are welcome to come along and learn more about being a CFA volunteer.
